Improve image composition in DPP

Improve image composition in DPP
image

1. Open the Trim tool
In the main DPP interface, click on the image you want to trim and select the Edit Image Window icon (top left of the screen). This will display your selected image in a large window. Go to Tools > StartTrimmingTool to open the Trim tool interface.

2. Select your aspect ratio
DPP gives you a choice of crop dimensions, which are shown in the Aspect Ratio drop-down menu. If you want to crop a perfect square, then select a ratio of 1:1. This won't alter the pixel dimensions of your photo, but will provide you with a crop template.

3. Freestyle cropping
If you'd prefer to crop the photo with your own crop dimensions rather than pre-selected ones, choose Free from the drop-down menu. Once you're satisfied with the crop aspect ratio, simply click on your image, hold down the mouse button and drag to form the shape of your crop. Release the mouse button when you're happy with the size of your crop.

4. Reposition your crop
You can reposition your crop by clicking within its boundaries and dragging it around. Edit the size of the crop by dragging on the corners of the border. Use the Opacity slider to reveal more or less of your image beyond the crop borders, so you can see what to include or exclude. Once you're satisfied, hit OK.
