The Digital Camera Young Photographer of the Year competition is the leading contest for photographers aged 17 and under. It is dedicated to encouraging and revealing new photographic talent and runs alongside the main Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2009 competition.
The competition is organised by the UK's best photography title, Digital Camera. You can find out more about the magazine here. Digital Camera is pleased to work in association with Jessops, Telegraph Media Group, Sky Arts, the Royal Photographic Society and PhotoRadar.com for Young Photographer of the Year 2009. You can find out more about the sponsors here.
What were the judges looking for? Simply photographers who could show a good eye for a picture and technical ability. There were some incredible pictures submitted this year, and it was a tough job to pick the shortlist for each category, let alone the winners. But here we are - with the final fantastic line-up. Well done to all the winners!
