New 14.1 compact camera features 14x superzoom lens, DIGIC 4 processing and 720p HD video shooting.

Canon has released the latest digital compact in its popular PowerShot range – the SX210 IS. Featuring a 14.1 megapixel sensor and 28mm wide-angle zoom, the PowerShot SX210's sleek, pocket-friendly body also packs a 7.6cm (3 inch) widescreen PureColor II G LCD screen and 720p HD video shooting.

DIGIC 4 processing allows for super quick image quality and fast operation. Smart Auto with Smart Detection Technology is designed to help photographers get outstanding images in all conditions, detecting each scene and selecting the optimum settings from 22 variables.

New Smart Flash Exposure controls flash levels according to shooting conditions to help provide the right amount of flash for every situation. Motion Detection Technology has also been incorporated to combat image blur by monitoring camera shake, brightness and subject movement before setting the optimal shutter speed and ISO level.

Other features include full manual control of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focusing to allow for full creative control. HD Movie recording at 720p is also available, now featuring stereo sound.

The SX210 will be available from March 2010 with a suggested retail price of £359. For more information, visit the Canon website.
