Solo show of Joe Bowes photography at Oxford’s O3 Gallery

An exhibition of black and white prints by the photographer Joe Bowes will be at the O3 Gallery in Oxford until 18 October 2009. The show, featuring images taken in various parts of the British Isles, coincides with the publication of Bowes’ first book of fine art photography.

Joe Bowes, After the Storm

Growing up in a small village in Oxfordshire, 46 year old Bowes was introduced to photography in his early teens when his grandfather gave him an old Yashica camera. After losing touch with the form, he revisited photography back in 2000 where he chose black and white as his medium of choice.

Since then, Bowes has had his work displayed at the Michael Heseltine Gallery in Middleton Cheney and was featured in the 2008 Landscape Photographer of the Year competition. Using medium format film cameras to capture his images, Bowes also develops and prints the work himself in his own darkroom.

The exhibition, First Impressions, will feature at the 03 Gallery in Oxford until 18 October 2009. All images will be for sale and have a limited print run of 45. The book, First Impressions, will also be available.
