Photographer's rights under s44 of the Terrorism Act

'Bust card' avaliable from www.photographernotaterrorist.org

The good people at I’m a Photographer, Not a Terrorist, a campaign to stop photographers being harassed for taking pictures in public, have put together a brilliant ‘Bust card’, which I’m putting in my purse right now.

As you can see, the card concentrates mainly on your rights under s44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which is the most common law used against photographers in the UK. Very handy to carry around so you know, at a glance, what your rights are if you are stopped by the police.

Incidentally, I’m a Photographer, Not a Terrorist are holding a mass gathering in defense of street photography this Saturday (23rd Jan 2010) in Trafalgar Square. Find out more at www.photographernotaterrorist.org.
